Today’s Puzzle – ‘Hometown’ 750 pieces by RoseArt

Today I put together this puzzle, which was manufactured and produced by RoseArt, a company known for arts and crafts supplies for children. It was pretty easy to tell just from assembling this puzzle that jigsaw puzzles are not their specialty as the pieces were very oddly shaped and didn’t stay together at all.

The odd shapes were quite odd as there weren’t even standard sizes among the pieces. Some of the pieces would be the size of 3-4 regular jigsaw puzzle pieces while others were a fraction of one piece. And unfortunately the pieces didn’t stay together if you tried to pick them up to move them or even if you scooted them across the surface. This meant that you needed to assemble them in the place that they would end or you’d have to reassemble when you moved them.

Given that the puzzle was in the shape of the United States and not a traditional rectangle or square, the border pieces were not as easily identifiable as you would find in a traditional jigsaw puzzle. Therefore, it was difficult to determine exactly where pieces would end up, so there was quite a bit of reassembly as I moved pieces together.

Overall this puzzle did have nice graphics and I enjoyed that it was a different shape. Given that it was in the shape of the United States, it would have been interesting to feature hometowns from across the U.S. This could have been accomplished by featuring the landmarks or aspects of cities across the U.S.
